Range: $18.00 to $25.00
A server assistant, also known as a busser, is responsible for supporting the waitstaff by setting tables, refilling drinks, clearing dirty dishes, resetting tables for new guests, and generally ensuring a clean and organized dining area, all while maintaining a positive customer experience and assisting with any additional needs that may arise during service.
We require:
- Attention to detail: Ensuring tables are properly set and cleaned, and maintaining a neat appearance.
- Basic food and beverage knowledge: Understanding menu items and basic beverage service.
- Excellent customer service skills: Ability to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Physical stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and carry trays of dishes.
- Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with other servers and kitchen staff.
- Time management: Efficiently managing tasks to ensure timely service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Beverage service: Refill water glasses, bring additional drinks as requested by guests.
- Clearing dishes: Removing dirty plates, glasses, and utensils from tables promptly.
- Communicating with staff: Effectively communicating with servers and kitchen staff regarding customer needs and orders.
- Food delivery: Occasionally delivering food from the kitchen to tables as needed.
- Guest support: Addressing basic customer requests, like providing additional napkins or condiments.
- Maintaining cleanliness: Keeping the dining area clean by wiping spills, removing crumbs, and tidying up highchairs.
- Side work: Performing tasks like restocking supplies, polishing silverware, and cleaning service stations.
- Table resetting: Cleaning and resetting tables with fresh linens and silverware for new guests.
- Table setting: Setting tables with appropriate silverware, glassware, linens, and condiments.
Physical Requirements:
· Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel, stoop or crouch repeatedly.
· Close and distance vision.
· Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
· Frequent standing with some walking and sitting.
· Lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
· Identify and distinguish colors.
· Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
· Stand for long periods of time.
