Responsibilities:
- Conduct field visits to jobsites to observe and evaluate construction work. Construction would typically involve multidiscipline projects (i.e. pump stations, WTP, WWTP, etc.)
- Coordinate and oversee material testing according to prescribed procedures on soil, concrete, bituminous and aggregate materials
- Monitor construction schedule
- Capable of monitoring construction activities for compliance with contract documents.
- Capable of preliminary approval of payment estimates prepared by contractors.
- Proficient at producing thorough, accurate, and concise quantities, daily reports, and other related documents.
- Capable of organizing and processing project records.
- Capable of monitoring the site safety of HRC personnel.
- Assuring all equipment and/or materials incorporated into the work is in accordance with shop drawings and specifications.
- Assisting Project Managers in the preparation of Request for Quotations, Change Orders, and Request for Information.
- Proficient in processing project records on computers, including material generated by others.
- Capable of observing and documenting individual equipment startups for compliance with contract documents.
- Capable of making decisions based off previous experience when appropriate.
- Capable of attending and facilitating preconstruction meetings and progress review meetings.
- Effective and respectful communication skills with staff, contractors, clients, and the public.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
- Minimum 15 years relative experience including 5 years in multi-disciplined projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans and specifications
- Strong math skills
- Basic computer skills are required
- Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical and substance abuse test
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to travel throughout Michigan
