Description
In this role, the manager is responsible for the day-to-day consumer loan operations reporting to the SVP of Lending. The manager will develop a highly effective team through coaching and leadership. Coaching will be necessary to ensure employees are identifying the needs of members and making recommendations. Service excellence is a top priority ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members.
Additional duties:
- Responsible for producing a high volume of good quality loans to achieve a profitable return on member equity.
- Be accountable for exercising prudence, skill and judgment in the extension of credit to members by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics, and complying with all Federal and State compliance policies.
- Evaluates products and procedures currently in place and makes recommendations for improvement to the Head of Lending. Recommend procedures, policies, products, services, and applications to management, as needed, to ensure member service objectives are being achieved and to ensure the credit union’s smooth and orderly operation. Reviews external factors that may affect lending policies, such as new or revised legislation and regulations. Recommends and implements appropriate changes to policies and procedures.
- Community Relations and Business Development: Be a visible presence in the local community.
- Credit Union Direct Lending (CUDL) dealership relationship building.
Requirements
Prior supervisory/management experience is required. Must have managed staff.
Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
