Description
The specialist performs loan servicing ensuring service excellence to our membership. Our members value our quality in-house servicing with duties such as responding to inquiries, document and report preparation, escrow analysis, and PMI processing. Your prior demonstrated experience will be essential for quality control of pre- and post-closing loans.
Additional duties include:
- Finalize collateralized loans, liens on titled collateral, filing of UCC’s and securing documents for scanning.
- Recommend procedures and policies to management, as needed, to ensure member service objectives are being achieved and to ensure the credit union's smooth and orderly operation.
- Prepare correspondence and notifications regarding adjustable-rate mortgage payment adjustments.
- Provide timely follow-up on any/all missing loan file documents. Maintain missing items list and review outstanding items with management.
- Tracking insurance for mortgage and consumer loans to ensure continuous coverage.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of all real estate taxes and homeowners insurance.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with all federal, state, investor and internal policies and procedures regarding servicing.
- Perform all duties associated with paid mortgage and consumer loans including quoting accurate payoffs, verification requests, discharging mortgage, and forwarding all other documents to appropriate parties.
Requirements
Prior experience servicing loans, escrow analysis, and quality control is required.
Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
