Applied Energy Technology Corporation (AETC) has an excellent reputation in the field of design, development, qualification, and manufacturing of life-support pyrotechnic and explosive components. Our objective is to provide high quality pyrotechnic and explosive components with economical pricing and on time delivery.
AETC designs, develops, qualifies, and manufactures a variety of product applications, which includes fire extinguisher cartridges, which provide the energy that operates the fire extinguishers on military and commercial aircraft. Other products manufactured at AETC include SMDC initiators, cutters, piston-pusher, piston pullers, valves, and pyrotechnic time delays. Our products, in some cases, are intended to operate explosive devices such as EEDs (Electro-Explosive Devices), EBWs (Exploding Bridge Wires), EFIs (Exploding Foil Initiators), and other similar devices.
The AETC Engineer will manage assigned programs/projects from contract acceptance through production using established business unit practices and procedures while meeting customer requirements, within budget and in a timely manner. Key elements include an organized, data-driven, hands-on approach, leadership, and overall business acumen. Prior experience in aerospace, energetics and standard manufacturing experience is a plus. Strong communications skill is also a strong plus.
Responsibilities: The AETC Engineer performs a variety of design verification, manufacturing activities including preparing/updating drawings, preparing/updating project schedules, preparing presentations for meetings, preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings, and assisting in the preparation of documents.
- Research, design, and draft drawings, engineering plans, and graphics while also utilizing design software like SolidWorks
- Provides status and progress reports to project team, and management
- Create technical reports and presentations
- Partner with Engineering, Business Development, Customer, and Production teams to deliver results
- Effectively communicate, schedule, and ensure execution of program deliverables
- Responsible for program schedules, task prioritization and risk assessment for a variety of programs
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
- Plans and directs manufacturing operations for the most efficient manufacturing of products
- Utilizing knowledge of product technology, production methods, procedures and equipment capabilities
- Evaluate and establish material, equipment, and manpower requirements to support the manufacturing of product
- Reviews and analyzes data, reports and outputs to determine causes of non-conformity and implements corrective action
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- USA Citizenship is required.
- Must be capable to qualify and maintain an ATF explosive handlers license.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, such as Mechanical, Aerospace, other technical disciplines are acceptable.
- 3 years of related experience, prior experience in energetics is a plus
- Proven record of success as a "hands on" with at least 3 years of related experience
- Production/manufacturing of low-medium volume / high mix (Engineered) product environment preferably in the aerospace industries
- Strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills and communications skills (both written and oral) with attention to detail
- Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines
- Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to relationship-building, both internally and externally
- Must be self-directed and be able to work well under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines
- Strong leadership, project management and organizational skills
- Proven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: excellent communication, presentation, leadership and interpersonal skills, well developed problem-solving skills; solid organizational skills; and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organization

- Ability to work well under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines
- The right person will be ambitious and flexible, knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, CAD Software or other related business software.
