Position Summary :

Opportunity for Work & Learning (OWL) is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as its next Executive Director. The Executive Director will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, overseeing operational functions, and guiding the growth and success of the organization. This individual will work closely with the Board of Directors and senior leadership to align the mission of OWL with long-term sustainability goals. The Executive Director will oversee program delivery, financial management, and stakeholder engagement while fostering organizational culture.

OWL's non-profit mission is dedicated to helping individuals with barriers to employment gain meaningful work opportunities. Through job training and workforce development programs, OWL empowers individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and thrive in their communities. OWL's for-profit subsidiary, Lexington Manufacturing Center (LMC) partners with both local and national manufacturers to provide manufacturing services while offering employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Leadership :

  • Develop and execute long-term strategies that align with OWL's mission.
  • Champion continuous improvement, inclusivity, and professionalism across all levels.
  • Represent OWL at local, state, and national levels, advocating for critical initiatives.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including government representatives and community partners.

Financial Administration :

  • Manage OWL's financial health, including budget oversight, financial reporting, and forecasting.
  • Identify new revenue streams and optimize existing programs for financial sustainability.
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including grant applications and partnership agreements.
  • Board Relations :

  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors.
  • Support board governance and strategy development.
  • Provide regular updates on organizational performance and key strategic initiatives.
  • Operational Management :

  • Oversee all operations, including program delivery and workforce initiatives.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Refine internal policies to improve performance, communication, and productivity.
  • Leadership and Development :

  • Provide visionary leadership to the senior management team.
  • Promote leadership growth, retention, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree in business management, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • 7 years of leadership experience, with a track record of driving growth and success.
  • Strong understanding of financial management and operational best practices.
  • Supply chain and / or manufacturing experience required; Non-profit experience is strongly preferred.
