Job Summary:
HRI, Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction since 1947 and a Colas company, has an opening for an experienced and energetic Project Manager.
The qualified candidate will be experienced in Heavy Civil construction including bridges, excavations, pipe and PennDOT work. Our operating market includes Central, Southern, Eastern and Western parts of Pennsylvania.
The qualified candidatewill provide overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the business with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability.
Main Responsibilities:
· Create and maintain a culture that values safety, ethics, and environmental stewardship
· Complete supervision and responsibility for construction, including daily production, costs, safety, planning, scheduling (labor, equipment, trucks, and subcontractors), estimating, bidding, ethics, and quality control
· Establishes and maintains strong relationship with stakeholders, including owners, consultants, subcontractors, regulatory agencies and public
· Support the project team, providing engineering and construction review of projects & troubleshooting technical issues that arise on a daily basis
· Monitor and assess the performance of the project, foreman/superintendent, engineering needs and operations staff
· Ensure projects perform to meet safety, budget, schedule and quality expectations and take corrective action where necessary to ensure the best outcome for the project
· Review job budget and schedule updates
· Understand and enforces contractual responsibilities, contract documents and resolves disputes
· Train, coach, and mentor project personnel to develop a cohesive and effective team
· Develop, implement, and maintain bidding strategies and processes with the project team and estimators
· Coordinate and integrate the activities of project managers/engineers and other support staff on the project
· Establish priorities for the project staff based on owner and project requirements
· Review and approve all major purchase orders, change orders, and contractor/vendor requisitions
· Monitor contractor/vendor pending costs
· Ensure cost reports are updated and reviewed as applicable
· Review and approve all project forecasts, schedules, cost estimates, and financial reports
· Coordinate with project administrator all client business related contact and correspondence to ensure consistency of reporting.
· Obtain client’s acceptance of the work, including proper documentation
· Responsible for the preparation and submission of the final project report and timely closeout of subcontracts and purchase orders
· Conducts safety/incident investigations with corrective action to prevent future incidents
· Ensure company safety policies in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, and all OHSA and any state level agencies regulations are enforced
Education:
· Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred
Skills:
· Proven working experience leading a group of construction professionals as a Manager
· A strong understanding of field operations with aptitude for building complex projects
· Demonstratable ability to lead and manage staff
· Proficient in standard software, and computer skills
· Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
· Expertise in estimating and managing construction projects
· Ability to operate in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment
· A team-first mentality and eagerness to set and meet aggressive goals
Physical Requirements:
· Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
· Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
· Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms
· Standing/working on feet for long periods
· Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
