Software Engineer for Quantum Devices
We are seeking an experienced software engineer to join our team at HRL Laboratories. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for developing software solutions that enable the automation and characterization of our cutting-edge quantum devices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop software for the autonomous execution of complex sequences of experiments, measurements, and calibrations
- Design and implement software for the characterization and benchmarking of quantum devices
- Create rich visualizations to showcase device characteristics and performance
- Collaborate with experimental physicists to ensure software meets laboratory requirements
- Work closely with data engineers to define data organization and storage strategies
Requirements:
- 10 years of relevant software engineering experience
- Proficiency in Python programming language
- Experience with leading open-source Python packages such as Pandas, NumPy, Plotly, etc.
- Experience with relational database systems
- Solid understanding of core computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and computer architectures
- Experience working with physical hardware
- Relevant education in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Compensation:
- Competitive base salary range: $182,720 - $234,168
