Associate Buyer- Appliances:
Job Title: Associate Buyer- Appliances
Position Summary
The Associate Buyer for Appliances is responsible for placing special orders for Appliances for customers and maintaining appropriate stock levels of a select number of items for Hartville Hardware and potentially other stores. This position involves purchasing, maintaining accurate POs for our receiving and accounting departments, as well as aiding in maintaining strong vendor relationships. The position will work closely with both the Merchandise Manager and Sales Manager to help support and growth the appliance business. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a good multi-tasker and possesses strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Buying:
Collaboration & Communication:
- Assist with vendors, suppliers and team members to ensure proper product flow and display execution.
- Provide feedback to management on sales trends, customer preferences and inventory needs.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including merchandising, marketing, and store operations to ensure alignment on product selection and promotions.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create exposure and drive sales for your specific category.
- Help plan all marketing events that involve your specific category and assist in events in your area(s) as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Ability to lift and move products and fixtures as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and familiarity with purchasing and inventory management systems.
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- College degree in business or related field preferred.
