Job Title: Associate Buyer - Lumber & Building Materials
Position Summary
The Lumber and Building Materials Buyer and Admin plays a key role ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of the lumber and building materials division of Hartville Hardware. This dual-role combines the administrative support of order and receiving processing along with assisting in buying responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a good understanding of inventory management and purchasing policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Invoice Processing
- Review all customer special orders to ensure pricing and detail accuracy
- Receive incoming purchase orders administratively matching packing slip with purchase orders
- Manage all customer and vendor product returns, ensuring the process implemented according to documented procedures
- Check with vendors on incoming shipments
- Physically label all special orders to ensure smooth operations
Inventory Management and Purchasing
- Maintain an adequate supply of stock items
- Assist in sourcing hard to find items for customers
- Manage obsolete inventory, pricing and selling old inventory as well as working a plan for unsellable goods
- Drive the weekly inventory counting of high movement lumber items
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Ability to lift and move products and fixtures as needed
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and familiarity with purchasing and inventory management systems.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
