About the Position: As a Full-Time Team Member you will help us prepare and plate the delicious meals that we serve to our guests. At Hartville Kitchen, our guests come to enjoy a home-cooked meal. You will have the opportunity to play a very important role in that experience. You will be preparing all main entrees (meats) by grilling, broiling, or deep frying. You will be accountable for preparing delicious grilled food. Most importantly, you should be able to cook food according to all ServSafe food safety guidelines and cook meats to the proper temperatures.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Reads food order slips or receives verbal instructions as to food required by patron.
- Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time.
- Plates food portions according to Hartville Kitchen procedures in a timely manner
- Prepares, grills, and broils meats according to instructions.
- Prepares breaded fried items and other items in accordance with the company procedures as directed by the supervisor.
- Maintains appropriate amounts of food in holding bins as needed according to business demand.
- Perform simple food preparation tasks such as making sandwiches.
- Identifies, meat, poultry, fish, etc. when serving to avoid cross-contamination.
- Knowledge of food holding temperatures in order to maintain the proper temperature at all times including slow times.
- Maintains a sanitary workstation according to food safety training.
- Restock kitchen supplies, rotate food, and stamp the time and date on food in coolers.
- Stores food in designated areas, labeled with time and date on food in coolers.
- Assists in any needed cleaning at the end of the designated shift.
Essential Qualifications:
- Previous Grill Cook experience
- Must be available 11:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday)
- Serve Safe Certification a plus
- Ability to stand constantly and the ability to lift /carry 10-20 lbs.
- Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
- Energetic - Ability to work at a sustained pace and produce quality work.
- Active Listening - Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.
