Job Title: OPE/Tools Sales and Technician
Middlefield Location
Area: Tools
Overview: This job requires an individual that has mechanical, technical and sales ability with small engine and handheld outdoor power equipment including but not limited to Stihl, Milwaukee, and similar brands. This job is a dual role focusing on being a technical expert while selling the equipment when no repairs are required. This job also requires a dedicated team member who does whatever it takes, gives more than is expected, is organized and with a focus and a desire to serve others both inside and outside our store.
Essential Duties:
- Reflects the core values of HRM Enterprises - treating others as they would want to be treated.
- Is the in store resource and expert for small engine repairs with Stihl and similar brands
- Diagnoses, repairs and maintains small engines (chainsaws, blowers), handheld battery equipment, and/or pneumatic tools (nailers).
- Focuses on the sales floor and caring for customer needs when no urgent repairs are needed.
- Works closely and is in operational alignment with the corporate repair center (Hartville) of any questions or repair concerns.
- Ability to clearly explain (if called upon) to the customer’s satisfaction the diagnosis and repair of the machine in question.
- Continually seeks both technical and product training from vendors when available.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness - improves and promotes quality, and monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Observes all safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions, and uses equipment and materials properly.
- Follows instructions and promptly responds to management direction.
Job Particulars
- Full Time - 40 hours or additional hours in the peak season or at the discretion of management.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs continuously.
- Must have their own tools or purchase through the employer at a discount.
Education and Experience
- Experience with small engines and preferably Stihl power equipment.
- Able to take on tasks by themselves with little supervision.
- Has experience in equipment sales.
