Job Description
The Systems Operator is a critical role within our organization, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our sewage treatment facilities. This includes supervising assistants in the servicing and repair of sewer mains and appurtenances, as well as performing involved and difficult maintenance and repair on collection system force mains, gravity mains, and pump stations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in construction/repair of sewer lines, operation and maintenance of wastewater collections systems, and pump stations. They will also possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain sewage treatment facilities
- Supervise and train staff in the servicing and repair of sewer mains and appurtenances
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on collection system force mains, gravity mains, and pump stations
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and completion of HRSD's Apprenticeship program for this trade, or equivalent, as determined by HRSD's Apprenticeship Committee.
