HRSD's Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist position is a trade in our apprenticeship program. A combination of on-the-job training and a Associate's degree in a relevant field must pursued to become fully qualified.You will be required to take college classes towards the AS degree within HRSD's service area or online, outside of normal work hours (100% tuition assistance for classes, textbooks and fess and mileage reimbursement to/from the institution).A knowledge/skills assessment is required for this position.
Brief Description
The Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist is primarily responsible for installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial power and process control systems. The Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Specialist may also provide support for electric/electronic lab equipment, security, and remote telemetry systems. In addition, the E&I Specialist may also perform design and specification reviews to support the construction of new HRSD facilities.

Job Requirements
Education
Required
- Associate degree in Instrumentation Technology, Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, Electronics or a related field and completion of HRSD's Electrical and Instrumentation Apprenticeship Program or equivalent.
Experience
Required
- Must possess 4 years of experience working in electrical or instrumentation field.
- Record-keeping experience to include documentation of preventive maintenance and work logs.
- Must be able to read/understand blueprints, schematics, and similar diagrams.
Desired
- Experience within the wastewater treatment industry, gaining knowledge of how the process of treating wastewater takes place and the structure of the plants and pumping stations
- Experience in planning work and budgeting.
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License from state of residence
- Acquire and maintain credentials to access federal and state facilities (TWIC and DBIDS)
