Job Description
A Buyer III (Electronics, DoD) role is available as a contract position with the possibility of extension and potential direct hire in the long term.
About Us
This position is with a major defense contractor requiring US Citizenship for Secret Clearance. Permanent Residents, CPT, OPT, H1B, or TN visa holders are not eligible.
Responsibilities
- Procure goods and services necessary to support the mission by collaborating with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors.
- Develop procurement strategies, determine requirements, and establish procurement timelines with program managers and stakeholders.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, qualifications, and past performance to inform supplier selection.
- Manage purchase orders by expediting shipments, updating delivery schedules, and contacting vendors to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations and ethics guidelines.
- Monitor contract performance, deliverables, and compliance with terms and conditions.
- Foster positive relationships with suppliers, contractors, and external partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- General understanding of the procurement process.
- Proficiency in procurement and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
- Knowledge of federal procurement regulations and policies.
- Experience in procurement or purchasing roles, preferably in the government or defense sector.
Work Environment
This is a contract position initially, which may lead to a direct hire in the long term. The role will closely interact with one other on-site Buyer while the remaining procurement team operates remotely.
Benefits
The company offers a competitive hourly rate of $70-90K, paid overtime at 1.5 times the regular rate. Benefits include health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, and more, beginning after 30 days of employment.
Security Clearance
The position requires eligibility to obtain a Secret Security Clearance, which involves passing a background check and drug screen (including Cannabis).
