$27.00/hr to start. Overtime paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.

Job Description:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a major chemical, research, and agriculture organization to hire Chemical Laboratory (Lab) Technician. This position is responsible for quality assurance testing of in-process samples, raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods within the scope of the Company Quality Policy. This role involves using appropriate software to evaluate data based on internal and external specifications, supporting the continuous improvement of lab and plant processes through QA/QC activities, and meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze raw materials, intermediate products, finished products, and other chemical samples to evaluate suitability according to established specifications.
- Provide quality data and collaborate with the Lab Supervisor and Production personnel to improve lab and plant processes.
- Utilize software tools such as Lotus Notes, LabWare, SAP, and Microsoft Office programs to enhance quality reporting.
- Ensure the suitability of laboratory equipment through proper operation, maintenance, calibration, verification, and quality control activities.
- Generate quality and statistical data to support plant personnel in enhancing process control and meeting customer requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-year Associate's degree in Chemistry or a 2-year technical degree in analytical testing or a related field is preferred.
- 0 - 2 years’ experience working in a chemical manufacturing laboratory environment.
- Basic understanding of general chemistry and laboratory instrumentation operation.
- Basic understanding of quality assurance and control techniques, math, statistics, and ISO/RCMS quality system requirements.
- Proficiency in software packages such as Microsoft Office, Power BI, SAP, and Lotus Notes.
- Ability to lead projects and create or modify procedures with minimal guidance.
- Capable of performing troubleshooting, participating in investigations, audits, meetings, validations, and training.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
- This job will be a rotating shift job. "Dupont schedule" - one week, it will be Mon/Tue (AM or PM); off Wed/Thu and then work Fri/Sat/Sun... THEN, next week you will be off on Mon/Tuesday (AM or PM), work Wed/Thu and then off Fri/Sat/Sun. 12-hour days (5am to 5pm / 5pm to 5am).
- Any overtime will be paid at 1.5x.
- This is a fully on site role (no remote work).
- Offer may be contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen (drug screen does would not include cannabis).
- Occasional lifting, bending, and twisting. Ability to lift 30-50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk in the work environment for the majority of the time. Occasional use of stairs and respiratory protection.
