Automotive Technician
Location: Gray Court, SC
Contract: 3–6 months (strong potential for extensions or direct hire)
Schedule: Openings on all three shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)
Compensation: $26/hour (optional benefits available during the contract)
Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Vehicle Technician to assist with transmission assembly, disassembly, diagnostics, and repairs across various vehicle models. If you have experience as an automotive technician or mechanic but limited hands-on transmission experience, don’t worry—we’re willing to train the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair vehicle transmission systems, including automatic, manual, CVT, and dual-clutch transmissions.
- Perform transmission rebuilds, fluid flushes, and replacements as needed.
- Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and identify transmission issues.
- Disassemble and reassemble transmissions for inspection, repair, or replacement.
- Conduct road tests to verify repairs and ensure proper vehicle functionality.
- Follow OEM procedures, service manuals, and technical bulletins for accurate repairs.
- Perform quality checks and document all repairs in accordance with industry and company standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, service teams, and quality control personnel to address complex transmission concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as automotive technician/mechanic.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in automotive repair preferred.
- Certifications: ASE Certification in Automatic and Manual Transmissions is a plus, but not required.
- Technical Skills: Experience working in a dealership or repair shop.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy components, work in various positions, and safely operate tools and machinery.
- Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule & Compensation
Shift Options:
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Pay Rate: $26.00/hour
