What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Nurse position at HRYMCA?
Camp Norwich is located on 137 beautiful acres of fields and forests with 1/3 mile of shoreline on crystal clear Lake Norwich. Our YMCA Day Camp prepares children for the challenges of today and tomorrow through programs that develop individuals, strengthen families, and build safe, caring communities. The Camp Nurse is an essential part of keeping our camp safe so that these growing opportunities can be made possible. Position starts Summer 2025!
Job Duties
- Manage the administration of all medication for campers or staff
- Oversee any necessary first aid procedures and conduct health assessments as needed
- Communicate with camper parents/guardians when necessary
- Set up and maintain medical cabin as well as all medical supplies and equipment
- Maintain all camper and staff health files
Qualifications
- Must possess at least one of the following certifications: current Nursing Student, RN, LPN, CNA, EMT, or highly skilled in CPR/AED/First Aid or Wilderness version
- Experience working with children and young adults required
