Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage time efficiently independently and continually improve personal work ethic.
- Effectively manage competing priorities with guidance of project and department management.
- Practice and encourage safety-conscious build processes.
- Work cooperatively and jointly within a team to provide quality products.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward customers and team members.
- Work with cross-functional team to complete projects on time while meeting planned budget.
- Communicate with team members, management, and customers regarding job progress and identify potential issues.
- Demonstrate and inspire initiative to analyze problems and innovate best solutions.
- Develop less experienced Machine Builders through on the job training as necessary.
- Provide leadership insight to Management team.
- Build from blueprints, sketches, CAD, and CAM files.
- Utilization of lathes, grinders, drill presses, and manual Bridgeport.
- Fabrication and assembly utilizing hand and power tools.
- Read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering blueprints and schematics.
- Use of measurement tools and accurate calculation.
- Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces.
- Turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind machine parts to specifications.
- Communicate with team members, management, and customers regarding job progress and identify potential issues.
- May perform other duties are assigned or required.
- Travel Requirements 25-45%
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years’ experience in building equipment.
- Proven mechanical aptitude.
- Intermediate to expert proficiency in small to medium sized machine build.
- Intermediate proficiency in large machine build.
- Intermediate to expert proficiency in the use of lathes, grinders, drill presses, and manual Bridgeport.
- Intermediate to expert proficiency in utilizing hand and power tools.
- Intermediate to expert proficiency in accurate use of measurement devices and accurate calculations.
- Preferred: College or trade school certification in machine building or a related field.
- Basic working knowledge and fundamentals of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Physical Requirements
- The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling objects that are 50lbs or heavier.
