V&S Galvanizing, LLC has over 100 years of experience in Hot Dip Galvanizing and we are the leader in the steel coating industry. Today we operate over 9 galvanizing plants in the U.S., featuring exceptional service to small fabricators as well as companies known worldwide.
We are hiring for a Quality Control & Safety Coordinator at V&S Memphis Galvanizing LLC, located in Millington, TN.
Responsibilities:
Quality Control
Control incoming customer steel against the customer order forms/delivery documents for quantity check and per ASTM 123/153 standards
Ample working knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and responsibilities
QC proper design, surface defects, venting, damage, and steel type prior to galvanizing
Arrangement/distribution of material for proper rack selection
Inspect galvanized material for surface imperfections after galvanizing and train employees when corrections need to be made
Obtain thickness measurements
Proven troubleshooting capabilities
Perform weekly testing of the process tanks
Safety Coordinator
Make safety observations and coach workers about safe work practices
Safety observations will also include making sure employees are following the safety rules and correcting them when they are being unsafe
Report observations to management and enter into the safety app
Conduct weekly safety training meetings and impromptu safety meetings
Observe all aspects of the building and report safety hazards (Cut extension cords, blocked doors, unlabeled hazardous materials, etc.)
Requirements:
2 years hands-on experience in a Quality Control position
2 years’ experience in a safety position
Knowledge of the steel or coating industry
Extremely organized and analytical with attention to detail
Proven ability to multitask and finish projects accurately and timely
Ability to communicate with customers in a professional manner
Ability to work late to observe 2nd shift part of the time
OSHA 30 Certification preferred
