Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial health, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making. This position requires a strong background in accounting and finance, with expertise in various financial management practices. The Controller develops and / or implements policies and procedures related to the area of responsibility and recommends policy changes. The Controller performs financial reporting, reimbursement package, cash management, accounts payable, payroll, budgeting, and special projects as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Manage payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate compensation for employees.
- Conduct general ledger reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
- Utilize accounting software for efficient financial data management and reporting.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports that provide insights into the company’s performance.
- Apply knowledge of financial concepts to guide strategic planning and operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations and other relevant standards.
- Implement double entry bookkeeping practices to maintain accuracy in financial transactions.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop budgets and monitor expenditures.
- Prepare regulatory reporting as required by government agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in financial management roles, preferably as a Controller or similar position.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid knowledge of budgeting processes and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance and double entry bookkeeping principles.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Experience in a hospital or acute care facility preferred.
