Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for controlling the entire cost control effort on a panel. The cost control manager generally reports directly to the Project Manager or the Project Controls Manager, and may have one or more Cost Engineers reporting to him. The cost control manager could work in a corporate office and simultaneously work on multiple projects within the panel. The cost control manager may be directly or indirectly responsible for supervising the work of more junior Cost Engineers, and provide a training and mentoring role.
Main Scope/Responsibilities
- Manage bids from the subs and negotiate material and labor
- Participate in Earned Value data analysis & reporting
- Prepare the cost reports
- Ensure the cash flow development, analysis, & reporting
- Conduct and review the special cost studies and analysis
- Assist when forecasting the estimate to complete based on an independent analysis of progress, productivity, work remaining and current commitments
- Assist in the preparation of Margin Analysis and contingency
Education
- BA or BS or equivalent related experience
- Curricula: Arts, Sciences, Finance
Global Experience
- 5-30 years experience
Specific Experience in the position
- Minimum of 3 years in Project Control
