Overview
We are seeking a motivated Quality Engineer Intern to support our team in process improvement, tooling start-up, and preventive maintenance (PM) scheduling. The intern will gain hands-on experience with IATF standards, AIAG methodologies, commercial product improvement, and data collection while contributing to key quality initiatives. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong analytical mindset and a willingness to learn from industry experts.

Responsibilities
Process Improvement & Quality Management:
- Assist in reviewing, improving, and creating Process Flows, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and Control Plans.
- Develop Improvement Road Maps with visual diagrams to demonstrate process interactions.
- Support value stream modeling (SIPOC) and risk management strategies to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Conduct data collection and statistical analysis to identify trends and propose improvements.
Tooling Start-Up & Preventive Maintenance (PM) Scheduling:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support tooling start-ups and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Assist in scheduling and monitoring PM activities to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Work with vendors to evaluate tooling effectiveness and process optimization opportunities.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Gain exposure to IATF 16949, AIAG Core Tools, and industry best practices in quality engineering.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, control plans, and quality reports.
- Utilize Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to create detailed reports, presentations, and improvement plans.
Collaboration & Learning:
- Work closely with senior engineers and vendors to gain insights into quality engineering best practices.
- Demonstrate an open mind and willingness to learn from experts in the field.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and process efficiency.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of quality engineering principles, risk management, and process flow analysis.
- Understanding of AIAG PFMEA, Control Plans, and SIPOC models.
- Strong skills in math, statistical analysis, and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
