What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packaging Tech- 1st Shift position at HSM?
- Understand daily line assignment such as piece count, label, and shrink-wrapping requirements.
- Assemble boxes and apply correct labels.
- Identify any obvious defects in products and report them.
- Communicate with material handlers, operators, and packers to solve concerns.
- Scrap foam using racks when product isn’t ready to pack.
- Set up for next run during change overs.
- Complete proper set up and shut down procedures.
- Practice proper safety and housekeeping during each shift.
- Must be able to work well within a team.
- WIP, rework, or non-conforming product.
- Maintain safe operation.
- Must be able to read and understand verbal and written instructions.
- Must have minimal math skills.
- High school diploma preferred, but not required.
- Forklift license optional
