The base pay scale for this position is $173,566.74 - $190,554.24. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to : scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

Hospital for Special Surgery, #1 in Orthopedics for the last 13 years, is currently looking for a Full Time Physician Assistant. The position consists of seeing patients for initial and follow-up visits, office work and OR. Dr. James Dowdell is an orthopedic surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery and an Instructor of Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. His expertise lies with treating degenerative spinal pathologies in both a minimally invasive and open fashion. He believes in a holistic approach to patient care and focuses on the development of the surgeon-patient relationship to ensure a proper plan of care.
Qualifications :
- Graduation from an accredited PA program, current NYS & NJ PA License, BLS / ACLS certification via AHA and NCCPA board certification are required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a PA, preferably in an orthopedic setting or alternate surgical subspecialty
- The candidate must have the current Infection Control Certification and have completed a child abuse recognition course. The PA must have excellent communication skills and be a team player. Surgical experience or training is preferred.
