Title : Wound Care Nurse
Coordinates treatment to provide comprehensive wound assessments and plan of care including goals, implementation of treatment, evaluation, and outcomes. Provides patient, family and staff education regarding wound management, prevention of pressure ulcers, support surfaces, dressing selections and other therapies. Is a resource person for physicians wound team and clinical staff additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. Participates in performance improvement plan of the organization.
EDUCATION : Must possess, as a minimum, an associates Nursing Degree from accredited college or university.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Previous experience in a Long-Term Care Facility. Knowledge of Wound Care practices.
- Registered Nursing Licensed in the State of New York. Professional Nurse, minimum of associate’s degree, MDS Knowledge, Wound and Infection Control knowledge, Care Planning and Assessment knowledge
GENERAL OBJECTIVES : To ensure residents receive wound care services in order to meet their highest practicable level of physical functioning.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Ability to perform wound assessment, reassessment, and management for patients.Utilizes principles of current wound management theory when providing care to patients with acute and chronic wounds.Demonstrates thorough knowledge of staging system of wounds.Develops skin care programs to prevent skin breakdown of patients.Provide excellent nursing care to patients suffering from wounds.Assess and evaluate patients with wounds and injuries.Evaluate wounds and injuries for infections or other illness factors that causes wounds.Initiate nursing care procedures in managing acute and traumatic wounds.Coordinate with rehab, traumatic and nutritional nurses in nursing patients with wounds.Ensure optimum patient care delivery in wound care nursing procedures.Educate and counsel patients and their families on would care processes and issues.Demonstrates wound care procedures to other care givers.Sanitize and maintain the premises of wound care neat, clean and hygienic.EXPECTATIONS :
Presents a neat appearance with a pleasant speaking voice and personality. Must be punctual.

Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
