The essential role of this position is to:
Effectively manage and execute assigned projects to include effective communication with superintendents, clients and subcontractors to ensure projects meet designated timelines and budgets.
Skills and Credentials required:
- BA/BS degree (or higher) in construction management or engineering related field.
- 10 years design-build construction management experience
- One of the following certifications:
- Active Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certified by the Construction Manager Certification Institute, or
- Active Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification issued by the Project Management Institute, or
- Active Certified Professional Constructor (CPC) certified by the American Institute of Constructors & Constructor Certification Commission, or
- Active Design-Build Professional certification administered by the DBIA, or
- Active Licensed Professional Registration in Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, or Pennsylvania
- If no Certification or License, then additional 10 years of construction management experience for a total of 20 years of construction project management experience, including at least 10 years of design-build construction project management experience.
The position includes but is not limited to the following duties:
- Plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish.
- Organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
- Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports. Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored properly.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
- Determine needed resources from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
- Identify, track, manage and resolve project issues.
- Chair progress meetings with Clients.
- Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Continually seek opportunities to increase client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
- Other duties as assigned.
