ACCOUNTABILITIES: Assist buyer with a variety of purchasing responsibilities: product replenishment, maintaining inventory levels while achieving service levels, and inventory turn goals. Process, maintain and set up of vendor item maintenance. Resolve vendor inquiries, late deliveries, and customer inquiries. Position communicates to sales, distribution, and customers. Travel and assist, or attend tradeshows and buyer’s meetings.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Strong mathematical and analytical skills are needed with an ability to evaluate and interpret data. Diplomacy, communication, organization and quick-thinking skills are useful during situations with customers, sales, and internal associates. Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage interruptions and multiple projects at any given time. Ability to work with the pressure of meeting tight deadlines and anticipate market and seasonal changes. Must have proficient computer skills and ability to navigate internet/email systems. Excel, Word, 10-key typing experience and proficiency needed. Remote work is not available.
EDUCATION: Minimum of 1 year purchasing background or education in supply chain/logistics or business degree. 5-10% of the job requires overnight travel to meetings or tradeshows. Required HS Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
