Business Development Associate – Commercial Insurance

Location : Hybrid Position – Exton, PA

Job Type : Full-time | Entry-Level

Reports To : Director of Business Development

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Business Development Associate to join our growing team. This entry-level role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in the commercial insurance industry with a clear path for professional growth.

The primary responsibility of this position is prospecting and generating qualified appointments for our Insurance Advisors. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator, comfortable with outreach, and driven to develop relationships with potential business clients.

Key Responsibilities

Prospecting & Lead Generation

Conduct outbound prospecting efforts via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other digital channels to generate interest in our commercial insurance services.

Identify and research potential business clients across various industries.

Maintain and organize a pipeline of qualified leads using CRM tools.

Appointment Setting

Engage with business owners, executives, and decision-makers to understand their insurance needs.

Effectively communicate our value proposition and schedule qualified appointments for Insurance Advisors.

Follow up with prospects to nurture relationships and move them through the sales funnel.

Market & Industry Research

Stay informed on industry trends, commercial insurance products, and key business sectors to refine prospecting strategies.

Gather insights on target industries such as Medical, Dental, Veterinary, and Professional Services.

Collaboration & Sales Support

Work closely with Insurance Advisors and sales leadership to strategize outreach efforts.

Assist in the development of outreach scripts, email campaigns, and other prospecting materials.

Attend networking events, trade shows, and industry gatherings as needed to build relationships.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred but not required).

0-2 years of experience in sales, business development, or insurance (internship experience is a plus).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build rapport.

Goal-oriented with a competitive drive and resilience in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new sales techniques and tools.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, and sales prospecting tools.

Willingness to obtain relevant insurance licenses as part of career development.
