What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering CAD Designer position at HTI?
HTI has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering CAD Designer with a large start-up manufacturing facility located just south of Augusta, GA (in Waynesboro, GA). This is a full-time, direct hire, onsite, salaried position. Working hours are Monday – Friday from 7am-4pm. The salary range is approximately $65,000 – 80,000 / year, depending on education and experience. This company offers fantastic benefits and opportunities for growth!
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CAD Design/Drafting, or a similar area of study
- 2 years of experience creating and editing mechanical/electrical drawings with 2D/3D design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in transformer/electrical component manufacturing, power distribution (electrical utility), electrical design for construction, or a similar industry is preferred
- Understanding of the engineering principles related to thermodynamics and heat transfer is preferred
Job Duties:
- Edit/update existing component and product designs, ensuring that all views and dimensions are included for production.
- Review and analyze existing drawings (both internal and from customers).
- Compile and write work instructions for internal production/assembly teams based on final drawings.
- Create bill of materials (BOMs).
- Evaluate product designs and proposed changes and assist with the design review and verification process. Apply engineering knowledge to provide input and recommendations to the team.
- Communicate with internal departments to resolve any issues related to customer projects, including scheduling, budgets, and design/production deliverables.
- Assist production department with new product rollout and coordinate with internal departments to resolve any production challenges.
- Assist the Engineering Design team with customer projects, including equipment selection, cost data, work plans, installation specifications, and other tasks and documentation.
- Utilize Microsoft Office software and CAD design programs (AutoCAD and SolidWorks).
