What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Buyer (Automotive Manufacturing) position at HTI?
HTI is recruiting an experienced Senior Buyer for an automotive supplier manufacturing facility in Greenville, SC. This is a direct hire, salaried, onsite position. The company offers comprehensive benefits. Salary will depend on experience and education, and the range is approximately $80,000 – 85,000 / year.
Requirements :
Must have 5 years of experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer in a high-volume automotive manufacturing facility
Must have 2 years of experience with SAP software
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field is preferred
Manage supplier relationships, development, and performance
Draft and issue RFQ’s, obtain and analyze quotes, negotiate supplier terms / costs
Purchasing responsibilities will include raw materials, production, tooling and CAPEX (equipment / machinery)
Research and source new suppliers as needed
Coordinate and communicate with internal departments and managers regarding raw material inventory, commodity strategy, forecasting, supplier quality and performance, logistics
Ongoing continuous improvement for purchasing / supplier processes
Identify cost saving opportunities for all commodities
Maintain regular communication and coordination with suppliers to resolve delivery and quality issues; negotiate cost recovery when necessary
Track supplier performance and commodity costs, produce periodic reports on KPI’s, cost savings, etc.
Approve supplier invoices, prepare and issue PO’s
Coordinate with engineering department to ensure correct BOM’s
This position reports to the Director of Purchasing, and will directly supervise two purchasing department team members.
