JOB SUMMARY: With assistance from the electrical design and field operations departments, drive the successful delivery of Epsilon’s control systems throughout the project lifecycle, from submittal phase through factory installation, pre-commissioning, field installation, and final commissioning phases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contribute to the development of project-specific controls documentation, as part of the submittal process; includes points lists, control schematics, and sequences of operation
Develop and then perform pre-shipment controls checkouts at factory
Develop and then perform on-site controls checkout as part of pre-commissioning effort
Assist in the development (and/or review of) functional testing procedures prior to shipment
Assist in any on-site commissioning efforts, including functional testing performed by Epsilon and/or a third party
Perform on-site diagnostics of any systems issues that may be related to controls, including working closely with other field contractors (testing and balancing, mechanical, electrical, etc.) and owner representatives
EXPERIENCE:
Direct experience with the programming, installation, and diagnostics of PLC and/or DDC controls (3-5 years)
Prior work experience in an HVAC related field (3-5 years) – experience with large central chiller / boiler systems preferred
Direct work experience with a major controls OEM preferred (ex: Trane, JCI, Allen Bradley PLC controls, etc.)
Experience working on an active construction site
Experience working in an operating facility
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical or electrical) or construction management, or related discipline
In lieu of a degree, a minimum five (5) years of related experience working as a controls engineer or technician on platforms such as Tracer, Tridium, Alerton, Distech, Automated Logic
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Proficient in RSLogix 5000 Allen Bradley PLC Programming Software
Proficient in Niagara Triduim – Workplace AX - JACE Programming Software
TRAVEL:
This role is job-site-based, and as such requires frequent periods of travel throughout North America (50 – 75%), along with work both remotely (virtual) and at one of Epsilon’s production facilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
Clean driving record
Successful completion of background check
OSHA 10 Hour Certification
Valid Passport
Ability to communicate professionally at all levels of the organization and with external contacts
