SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:
The Hualapai Department of Natural Resources (HDNR) is hiring four (4) part-time Fence Crew personnel. These positions are dependent on project funding for several fenceline and water pipeline construction projects and various other projects, which are on-going for the Natural Resources Department. The Agriculture Fence Crew Laborers are under the direct supervision of the HDNR Agriculture Program Manager or Acting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Knowledge in pipe fitting and use of fusion machine.
- Knowledge in barb wire fence construction.
- Must be responsible, dependable and self motivated.
- Knowledgeable in vehicle operation, maintenance and reporting.
- Must be able to receive training to operate equipment as needed
- Working alongside heavy equipment during Earthen dam repair and maintenance activities
· Must be responsible, dependable and self-motivated.
- Tribal member living on the Hualapai Reservation is preferred.
- Must be a team player to integrate with other programs within the Department.
- Must be willing to attend and receive training and certification related to the position.
- Must be able to work under any weather conditions, be in good physical condition and able to remain in the field for extended periods of time, up to 10 hour days and weekends as necessary.
- Must be able to lift 45 lbs and able to carry bulky items such as fence posts, barbed wire, and several sticks or rolls of pipe (10 feet to 21 feet in length (3/4” diameter – 3” in diameter).
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must posses a High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Must posses a valid Drivers License and be eligible for the tribe’s insurance.
- Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol and random screenings.
