Description:
The Hub City Spartanburgers are looking to add a Music Director to their dynamic entertainment team. This role will be the curator and conductor of the sounds and music that are heard throughout Fifth Third Park, setting the tone on game days and during other events. The Music Director will need to be a true entertainer and part of the FUN ballpark experience. The ideal candidate for this role will be a current or past professional in the music industry, Pianist/Keyboardist/Organist or a professional DJ and is excited to plan & execute the music/sound entertainment that thousands of people will enjoy during each event at Fifth Third Park.
The Music Director will work directly with the General Manager, Sr. Manager of Marketing and the Manager of Promotions & Game Programming for all Spartanburgers home games and other Fifth Third Park events. This is a part-time position with the majority of hours being dedicated during the season (April-Sept), specifically to game days, and some hours throughout the off-season (Oct-March).
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with Spartanburgers leadership on building a music/sound plan for each Spartanburgers home game and for other events, as needed.
- Become an expert on the sound technology and equipment within Fifth Third Park.
- Build sound and music playlists to use throughout games and events at Fifth Third Park.
- Interact with On-Field Hosts/PA Announcers with in-park audio/microphone.
- Engage with fans on the concourse and be a ballpark entertainer.
- Set up and breakdown equipment for each game/event.
- Perform sound tests and microphone checks before gates open each game/event.
- Work with staff/team on walk up/out music for Spartanburgers players.
- Work with staff on building fireworks playlists and coordinating music during fireworks shows.
- Work with staff on building playlists that fit individual theme nights and promotions.
- If a DJ or Pianist/Keyboardist/Organist, curating unique sounds/music to be featured at Fifth Third Park.
- Perform for thousands of fans each game.
- Assist outside vendors with sound needs for concerts or other major events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Past or Present professional in the music industry, a professional DJ or a Pianist/Keyboardist/Organist with director experience.
- Ability to entertain with energy and speak on a microphone in front of large crowds.
- Ability to curate and organize music for specific events and situations, specifically for game days, game play and FUN.
- Ability to manage and take care of equipment professionally.
- Must be able to take and give constructive feedback and creative direction.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Must be able to work with others and be part of a team.
- Intermediate knowledge of baseball and rules preferred.
- Should be able to lift and set up equipment to perform your duties.
