Summary
The Hub City Spartanburgers are looking for motivated, focused, and driven individuals to help us fill our Video Broadcast and Production roles, including Camera Operator, Instant Replay, CG Operator, Camera Shader, Technical Director, and Video Board Operator. Successful candidates will have strong technical skills and past broadcast or control room experience is preferred. The individual roles are detailed below.
Camera Operator
Job Duties/Qualifications
• Assemble and operate professional broadcast equipment which includes cameras, tripods, monitors, cables, and headphones.
• Work as part of a team under the direction of the Technical Director to produce 66 home game broadcasts.
• Follow the action during the game and between innings for promotional activities such as fan cams and on-field games.
• Adjust camera settings as needed to ensure clear picture and quality.
• Must be able to stand for several hours at a time outside and carry up to 20 pounds of equipment to and from the camera bay.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of the game of baseball and sports broadcast/videography preferred.
• Must have quick reaction time, take direction well, and be an efficient communicator.
Instant Replay
Job Duties/Qualifications
• Cut live replays for broadcast and video board use.
• Cut highlights for social media.
• Responsible for organizing, editing, and compiling clips.
• Work as part of a team under the direction of the Technical Director to produce 66 home game broadcasts.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of the game of baseball and sports broadcast/videography preferred.
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent computer skills preferred.
CG Operator
Job Duties/Qualifications
• Operate Ross Xpression computer to run graphics on live broadcasts. Graphics include score bugs, lower-thirds, and full screens.
• Work as part of a team under the direction of the Technical Director to produce 66 home game broadcasts.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of the game of baseball and sports broadcast/videography preferred.
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent computer skills preferred.
Camera Shader
Job Duties/Qualifications
• Responsible for quality control of all wired camera shots used throughout the game. Adjust cameras for proper color temperature and iris to ensure that all cameras match in color rendition and exposure.
• Work as part of a team under the direction of the Technical Director to produce 66 home game broadcasts.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of the game of baseball and sports broadcast/videography preferred.
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent computer skills preferred.
Technical Director
Job Duties/Qualifications
• Responsible for calling camera shots, videos, graphics, etc. while punching the show on a Ross switcher.
• Follows the scripted rundown that is provided day-of from the Promotions Manager while also keeping up with broadcasted game action.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of the game of baseball and sports broadcast/videography required.
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have strong communication and leadership skills.
• Excellent computer skills preferred.
