Athletic Fields Crew (Temp Seasonal)

TEMP SEASONAL ATHLETIC FIELDS CREW

General Function:The Athletic Fields Crew is responsible for supervising the evening and weekend operations and maintenance of HUB Sports Center turf fields and facilities under the direction of Program Director and Maintenance Technician.

Duties:

• Opening and closing of field gates.
• Prepare the fields for games, including setting up goals and other equipment.
• Monitors field conditions to ensure all fields are safe and playable
• Perform quick repairs and adjustments as needed during games/events.
• Manage, clean, and oversee any facility-related needs before, during, and after events, including trash removal.
• Operate and maintain field equipment such as RTV, leaf blower, shovels, etc.
• Ensure all equipment is stored properly and is in good working condition.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to field maintenance and equipment use.
• Adhere to environmental regulations regarding the use of chemicals and waste disposal.
• Greeting clients and visitors and addressing any question, concerns, or interests.
• Direct teams, coaches, and visitors/guests to correctly scheduled fields.
• Perform and assist with special activities and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Must be over the age of 18 years old.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in groundskeeping, turf management, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Skills:

• Basic knowledge of field maintenance techniques and equipment.
• Ability to operate and maintain machinery and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to address guest inquiries, resolve issues professionally, and ensure a positive visitor experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Working Conditions:

• Schedule: Includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, during the summer sports season.
• Environment: Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Notes:

Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Must be able to work independently, with good judgment, great attitude and the ability to “wear multiple hats”

This position is a part time, seasonal position without benefits.

Hours vary, but for the majority are weeknights between 3:00pm to 11:00pm, and weekend shifts ranging from 6:30am to 11:00pm.

Wage:$16.66-$18.00/hr
