What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Laborer position at Hubbard Construction?

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking General Laborer to join our construction team. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing debris, setting up materials, and laying out equipment.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment on and off construction sites.
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Support skilled tradesmen and other workers with their tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols.
- Perform general labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and organizing construction materials.
- Assist with the assembly and disassembly of scaffolding, temporary structures, and other construction setups.
- Follow instructions from supervisors to help meet project deadlines.
- Ensure all work is performed according to company standards and local regulations.
- Adhere to all safety standards, including wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience working in a construction environment with experience in at least one of the following skills- Concrete Pouring & Finishing, Carpentry, Sheet Rock, Electrical, HVAC-and the ability to learn any other skills needed.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.) for extended periods of time.
- Ability to carry and move construction materials and equipment and be comfortable working at heights.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to safety practices and following procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred).

- The work environment is one of a professional construction site with open collaboration. Noise levels ranging from moderate to high.

Specific vision abilities may include the employee’s ability to see near and far distances.
