Your Mission:
As our Business Development Director, you will be responsible for actively driving new business growth by presenting, prospecting and working the pipeline while also developing and managing the Business Development (BD) team. You will work closely with the Senior Vice President to accelerate our transition to a high-efficiency, growth-focused sales model and lead the charge in transforming our business development strategy. You will refine sales processes, enhance team selling skills, and align marketing strategies to generate and convert high-quality leads. The role requires a hands-on approach, engaging directly with prospects to deliver impactful presentations, close deals and ensure a seamless handoff to the Territory Account Managers (TAMs).
What You’ll Do:
- Optimize the Pipeline & Refine Processes(Your First Priority):
- Design a clear, structured pipeline management process to maximize efficiency.
- Implement best practices for prospecting, lead qualification and deal progression.
- Leverage HubSpot and CRM tools to track engagement, nurture prospects and automate workflows.
- Elevate the BD Team’s Skills:
- Provide hands-on coaching to improve selling and presentation capabilities.
- Set measurable daily goals for meaningful selling interactions and ensure accountability.
- Facilitate role-playing exercises and workshops to sharpen outreach strategies.
- Align Marketing & Lead Generation:
- Partner with marketing to drive high-quality inbound leads.
- Ensure campaigns align with the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and support sales efforts.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Campaign Manager to enhance market research and operational support.
- Deliver Quick Wins:
- Establish aggressive 30-60-90 day goals to show rapid improvements in BD performance.
- Boost deal velocity and lead conversion rates through optimized strategies.
- Enhance outreach and nurturing efforts for high-value prospects.
What You Bring to the Table:
- 8 years of experience in B2B business development, sales leadership or process optimization.
- Proven track record of building, scaling and optimizing high-performing BD teams.
- Expertise in CRM tools (especially HubSpot) and pipeline management.
- Strong coaching and training abilities to improve prospecting and closing techniques.
- A collaborative mindset to align marketing efforts with sales objectives.
- A fast-execution approach, with the ability to make impactful changes in your first 90 days.
