JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for assisting victims of domestic violence and maintaining a classroom setting following the Children and Youth Learning Center Curriculum and the Department of Children and Families criteria. It is also responsible for providing crisis intervention, counseling, case management, and advocacy for victims of domestic violence. Employee will work indoors, outdoors and off-site.
PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for the cleanliness of and the day-to-day operations of the learning center, school, residential playroom, game room, and playground.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate new employees in the learning center.
- Train and supervise volunteers to provide victim services in service delivery area.
- Attend internal and/or external meetings as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain a file for every client and document progress and services provided as outlined in the program procedure manual.
- Facilitate/mediate conflict resolution meetings with client.
- Direct all problems concerning shelter maintenance in writing to program supervisor or designee for prompt resolution and compliance with shelter risk management policy and DCF requirements.
- Facilitate individual coaching and monthly meetings with staff.
- Coordinate and facilitate support/educational groups.
- Serve, as a floater between all classrooms on an as needed basis to ensure compliance with DCF childcare regulations, service delivery, and programmatic needs.
- Prepare reports as defined in program procedure manual.
- Assist with evening children’s group activities on an as needed basis as assigned by program supervisor.
- Coordinate client evaluations of program on an as needed basis as assigned by supervisor.
- May be required to provide, prepare and/or serve food according to the guidelines outlined in program procedure manual and/or the Food and Nutrition Program.
- Coordinate/attend outings, field trips and/or special events for victims.
- Provide information regarding resources and options for victims.
- Be familiar with and follow all departmental duties as outlined in procedures manual.

High School diploma or G.E.D. required. Childcare Director’s Credential, college degree in relevant field and/or one-year experience working in early childhood education and/or with families at risk preferred. Child Development Associates (CDA), First Aid/CPR, and food handler training preferred. If not already DCF childcare certified, must begin required trainings within the first 90-days of employment in the childcare industry and complete as outlined by DCF.
Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: sexual assault or domestic violence programs. Must be able to read, write and speak English; bi-lingual capabilities a plus.
If a driver’s license is required for this position, the following conditions apply: A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation are required. Vehicle insurance must be maintained. Must meet eligibility requirements for Hubbard House, Inc. vehicle insurance coverage.
Due to the serious nature of the Hubbard House mission, must successfully clear background screening: 1) a level-2 background screening which includes a criminal background check through the Department of Family and Children (DCF), Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), and the National Sex Offender Registry (at a minimum); 2) a motor vehicle report (MVR) is also run against the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV); and 3) a drug, alcohol, and TB screening. Must be able to produce proof of eligibility to work in the United States (E-Verify).
This is an onsite position.

PAY: Commensurate with experience
