A Day In The Life
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Gathering and analyzing data from various sources. Use Excel to update financial models and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and relevance. Prepare a daily report summarizing key financial metrics and trends for review by the VPGM and VP Finance.
- Forecasting: Refining forecasting models based on recent market trends and internal performance indicators. Utilize your understanding of Power BI to integrate data visualizations that enhance the interpretability of your forecasts.
- Communication: Use PowerPoint skills to create clear and compelling presentation slides that effectively communicate complex data to senior leaders.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with different department heads to gather additional insights and data points that could impact forecasts. This cross-functional interaction not only helps in refining models but also enhances your understanding of the business.
- Continuous Learning: Dedicate time to explore advanced Excel functions, new features in Power BI, or industry best practices in financial modeling. Staying updated with the latest tools and techniques will keep you efficient and effective in your role.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a business analysis or financial analysis role, preferably within a manufacturing or infrastructure setting.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, vlookup, and financial modeling). Basic knowledge of Power BI for creating and managing dashboards. Expertise in creating high-impact presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to interpret large amounts of data and multi-task with excellent accuracy.
