Job Overview
Perform general engineering technician functions which includes working in test cages and job sites with up to typically 480 VAC/VDC; testing new and modified products; processing material release and engineering change notices; and support assembly and product testing.
A Day In The Life
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create/modify prototype and production drawings
- Create/modify drawings and quotes for ETO (Engineered to Order) fire pump controllers, HRGs (High Resistance Grounding systems), radio and crane controls and cable harnesses
- Create/modify component selection tables
- Verify customer POs match sales orders
- Process engineering change notices
- Create/modify materials, routings and BOMs in the SAP business database Test prototypes and products and record observations
- Travel on service visits up to 10% of the time
- Interact well with personnel in other departments
- Other duties as assigned
What will help you thrive in this role?
Skills and Experience
- 3 – 5 years of electro-mechanical or related experience
- Experience with the fabrication and wiring of electrical control panels
- Experience with common electrical test equipment and hand tools
- Troubleshooting at the PCB level
- Soldering experience
- Familiar with NEC (NFPA 70)
- Proficient with Autodesk Inventor and Autocad Electrical
- Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
- Altium experience is a plus
- SAP experience is a plus
Education
- Associates degree in electrical/electronics engineering
- Potential to continue education toward a bachelor’s degree
