What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector - Incoming Material position at Hubbell Incorporated?
Job Overview
Inspects incoming materials and production parts to ensure conformance with Burndy specifications.
A Day In The Life
- Read and understand Burndy product drawings and specifications. Basic understanding of GD&T symbols is necessary.
- Perform first-piece inspection (FPIR / PSIR / QCIP) on items that are newly produced.
- Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, burrs, finish, visual damage, etc.
- Use statistical sampling plan as directed.
- Maintains detailed data records as required.
- Pull up relevant files (drawings, specifications, ECO's, Deviations, Work Instructions, etc) in enterprise software (ie. Agile and SAP). Able to create an ECO in Agile.
- Understand and follow the Burndy Quality Manual. Able to understand how this manual relates to the requirements of various external agencies such as ISO, NUPIC and CSA.
- Performs other duties as required.
