What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor Production (2nd Shift) - Cromwell, CT position at Hubbell Incorporated?
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the duties of second shift employees. This will include the planning and assigning of work, implementation and communication of policies and procedures. Additionally, you will produce required components while pursuing continuous improvement and minimizing cost.
- Lead a 2nd shift team that is focused on daily operations through safety, quality, service, and productivity.
- Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all production areas, Always work to continuously improve.
- Work closely with first shift supervisor on planning work and implementation of processes.
- Manage shift performance measure including visual controls and provide process updates to Operations Management.
- Enter and maintain attendance and timekeeping.
- Ensure workforce is properly trained.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience with decisions concerning resource and production requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- Previously Supervisory experience required.
- Knowledge of production scheduling
- 5-10 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Experience with lathes, mills, wire EDMs and Waterjet machines preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
