Job Description:
This full-time mechanic will work with all departments to perform general maintenance, adjusting and style changes on all machines and presses. This person should have a general working knowledge and the ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of mechanical repair disciples.
Job Duties:
- Trouble shoot, problem solve and generally repair problems on the machines and presses.
- Have a working knowledge of cams and levers and be teachable in these areas.
- Be able to pull shafts and replace worn cams and cam followers.
- Operate any one of Hubco’s Powered Industrial Trucks, and be able to meet requirements of the Forklift Training Program.
- Responsible for machinery oiling and grease schedules for cams and sewing machines.
- Utilize basic machining skills including brazing, minor welding and small part duplication, including insertion needle finishing and buffing, threading needle final preparation, blade sharpening etc.
- Work closely with operators and communicate proper procedures to the operators and relay problems and solutions to management.
- Clean the machines as needed to keep them in operating condition.
- Show signs of mechanical ability and be trainable in the techniques of drilling and tapping, electrical motor troubleshooting and preventive maintenance duties.
Basic Requirements:
- Ability to stand on feet all-day.
- Ability to lift approx. 70 lbs.
- Ability to lie on floor, bend over and stretch to reach awkward positions in machinery.
Starting pay: $18.00/hour – Mechanics start at 5:45 am with the plant running Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm, with the opportunity of overtime on Friday’s. More than 40 hours per week and paid biweekly. On the job training and paid time off (vacation and holidays). Excellent benefits which can include: Aflac, health, dental, vision, life and 401(k).
