Operation and setup of bending machines. Precise work according to design drawings, parts lists, and working papers. Quality responsibility for the manufactured parts. - Layout, set up, and operate one or more press brake machines and potentially other metalworking equipment such as shears, saws, plate rolls, drills, or profile benders to cut, bend, roll or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products.
- Check product quality for correct shapes, dimensions, and other specifications.
- Troubleshoot and perform corrective action or minor repairs on non-conforming parts.
- Transport material to the work area manually or using an overhead crane or pallet jack.
- Using barcode scanners for logging and moving material from location to location.
- Provide timely information regarding problems in production that may adversely affect quality, or delivery time.
- Analyze tooling, setups, and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
- Read and understand manufacturing drawings in order to set up machines properly for the operation.
- Remain constantly alert to detect improper part forming.
- Troubleshoot general material issues as they arise.
- Work as part of the team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards.
- Undertake continuous training and development.
- Perform routine maintenance on press brakes and other bending machines.
- Troubleshoot problems with machines and remedy.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures.
- Works to meet set goals agreed with by Machining and Fabrication Supervisor.

- Ability to perform sheet metal operations with accuracy and precision.
- Calculate and check tonnage require to bend specific parts based on thickness/length/material.
- Great working knowledge of Trumpf bending machines and their UI.
- Able to troubleshoot why material is non-conforming if so (wrong k-factors, etc..) to educate CAD team.
- Knows how to work with different hand tools in a safe matter.
- Read and understands blueprints.
- Inspect parts visually and mechanically for conformance to the print and process dimensions.
- Able to operate, overhead cranes, and other lifting devices.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Understanding of production processes with strong regard for production quality.

- Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
- Vision and dexterity for using computers and machine user interfaces.
- Hearing and vision are important to the Shop Labor’s safety on the job, as well as to be able to read blueprints and specifications. Consistent attendance due to tight production schedules is required to meet the needs of our customers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
- Descent computer skills.
- Minimum 5 years working directly with press brakes.
- Minimum 1 year working with Trumpf bending machines.
- Use of hand & power tools along with hydraulic equipment.
- Some experience with plate rolling including cones.
- Some experience with profile bending.
- Equipment Manufacturing background a plus
