- JOB SUMMARY
- SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITES
- Technical and personnel management of the team taking into account quality, customer satisfaction, globalization, deadlines and cost efficiency.
- Authorized to give instructions within the team, as well as open and clear communication.
- Organization and moderation of regular meetings
- Dimensioning / calculations of machine and structural elements
- Initiation, cooperation and implementation
- of departmental measurable optimization measures (departmental goals, quality goals, environmental goals, ...), and regular presentation of the target status of the team,
- of quality improvement measures within the team and in consultation with the Director of Design,
- in strengthening teamwork,
- with a targeted integration of the assigned trainees in the team,
- in the even distribution of the work and thus equal distribution of the work assignments to the team members,
- early coordination and determination of holiday planning in the team, taking into account the deputy regulations,
- during the appraisal interviews (team members) and employee evaluation,
- coordination of the practical work of the team members,
- for the international orientation (training courses, workshops, meetings, etc.),
- of reasonably feasible visits abroad where/if required,
- in detailed construction: competitiveness of the products,
- constantly keep a complete competence matrix in the team.

- At the regular meetings with the Director of Design, Design Planner and all team leaders, the situations must be pointed out by the team and cross-team support (rotation) can also be determined.

- Prepare technical documentation, dimensional installation drawings (waste water treatment), 3D models and revise the layouts from general written or verbal specifications in collaboration with the Design Department staff regional and international to ensure consistent documentation standards of all projects, as directed.
- Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with other HUBER locations to ensure consistent documentation of the products / projects.
- Review and understand blueprints, site plans, specifications, and other customer documentation requested as needed by engineers or project managers.
- Experience working with parametric, non-parametric (CAD) modeling software.
- Prepare and/or assist with installation drawings, which meet and exceed the customer’s requirements (bid and submittal phase). Implement these requirements on drawings which are sent to the customer.
- Become an information source on planning and design of equipment installations: equipment and plant engineering with on the job training and experience.
- Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (like drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters, and /performance guarantees) for future reference as to established procedures by the CAD team.
- Work with project teams to execute projects and deliver in a timely manner, which meet and exceed the customer’s requirements.
- Other duties as required relating to CAD database maintenance, PDM, etc.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.
- Occasional visits to customer sites may be required.
- Occasionally perform work in the manufacturing facility (dust and noise may be present)
- Training will take place in US, but travel to Germany may be needed.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- The IP Designer must be able to concentrate for extended periods paying close attention to detail. The IP Designer’s work environment does not require much physical movement. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand if that is preference.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Consistent attendance is important to this role, to meet bid dates, and manufacturing deadlines dependent on the drawings and commitments to our vendors and customers.
- POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- TRAVEL
- Must have passport, or ability to obtain passport upon date of hire.
- Annual or bi-annual training in Germany may be needed.
- Limited travel required to visit customer sites or tradeshows.
- EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
- Associate's degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, plus at least 4-6 years of related work experience: or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Part modeling and detailing experience using 3D parametric software such as Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.
- Creo/Windchill experience is a plus
- Experience working with skeleton structures, assembly structures, and product design is a plus
- Experience in equipment layout for municipal and/or industrial construction projects
- Experience relating to wastewater treatment facilities
- Experience with Windchill Product Data Management (PDM) software
- Manufacturing design experience with sheet metal, fabrication, and welding CAD designs
- Ability and willingness to travel to Germany up to twice per year
- Experience with IFS software or similar experience with ERP software
- 6-8 years of experience
