Telehealth Specialist
This position provides primary support in a telehealth setting usually assisting healthcare providers in delivering virtual medical services to patients. The Telehealth Specialist maintains a close and highly responsive relationship with providers staff and patients working fairly independently while receiving minimal direct supervision. This role requires knowledge of telemedicine systems healthcare protocols and administrative procedures related to remote patient care. A working knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth software is essential.
Duties may include :
- Patient Coordination : Screen and schedule virtual patient appointments confirm eligibility and assist patients with telehealth access issues.
- Technical Support : Provide guidance on using telehealth platforms troubleshoot basic technical problems and ensure seamless virtual visit experiences.
- Documentation & Compliance : Review and update electronic medical records verify accuracy and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provider Assistance : Support physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals during virtual consultations by managing documentation facilitating patientprovider interactions and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Communication & Outreach : Answer patient inquiries regarding telehealth services explain procedures and coordinate followups as needed.
- Data Management : Collect and track telehealth service metrics prepare reports on usage and patient feedback and identify areas for improvement.
- Scheduling & Logistics : Coordinate virtual appointments send reminders and ensure all necessary forms and consents are completed before visits.
- Insurance & Billing Support : Assist patients with telehealth billing questions verify insurance coverage and direct them to appropriate financial resources when necessary.
- Compliance & Training : Stay up to date with telehealth policies ensure adherence to security and privacy standards and assist in training new staff on telehealth procedures.
- Administrative Support : Manage records process telehealthrelated correspondence and coordinate virtual meetings for the healthcare team.
This role requires proficiency in telecommunication systems electronic health records (EHR) Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook) Google Suite and the ability to learn and adapt to various healthcare software applications. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations medical terminology and virtual care best practices is preferred.
