What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Law Litigator position at Huckaby Hicks PLLC?
Huckaby Hicks is a midsized civil law firm looking for an experienced Family Law Litigator. The firm has divisions dedicated to family law, business law and estate planning. The ideal candidate for our family law division will have experience with litigation and a desire to work in a collaborative team-centric office both virtually and in person. The team environment is comprised of experienced litigators that offer and encourage collaboration, while respecting autonomy. Candidates must be comfortable with high conflict litigation and using Microsoft Office and technology to reach clients, have strong interpersonal communication skills, and advocate for them. Must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar. Flexible schedule, remote opportunities with a reliable office and staff for in-person consultations and team meetings.
Experience / Skills :
Comprehensive understanding of the Texas Family Code, Texas Rules of Evidence, and the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure.
Proven experience managing cases from beginning to end.
Experience with high conflict litigation, preferably in Family Law
Experience with high asset divorces.
Experience with taking and defending depositions.
Exceptional writing skills and strong academic background.
Experience requesting or responding to written discovery.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
Ability to effectively work with people, exercise sound judgment and establish and maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues
Represent clients in court proceedings across the Central Texas area

Licensed in TX and come from an accredited ABA school
Qualifications :
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the state bar association
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Experience in negotiating and litigating cases is required.
