Job Description:
The front of house interacts with the guests to ensure they have a great dining experience. Front of house is responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, counter staff is expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.
The Chain of Service:
Each employees’ job function is to contribute to the positive guest experience which is achieved through the chain of service. The guest experience is achieved through the service of food and beverage, and both FOH and BOH of are vital parts of that chain and play important roles in achieving that goal.
Duties and responsibilities
As front of house, your job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Welcomes and greets guests.
- Takes food and beverage orders.
- Responsible for all cash transactions.
- Responsible for sanitary standards for the coffee station, serving and eating areas.
- Staying updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items...etc.
- Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks.
- Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change.
- Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by the Lead.
- Assisting with special events as needed.
- Understands and can communicate products and services available at the restaurant.
- Prepare some food items (salads, etc)
Requirements
- Must be available to work at least one weekend day
- All employees must possess a food handler’s permit or the ability to obtain one shortly after employment .
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Friendly and outgoing manner with the public.
- Flexibility in work assignments and shift.
- Initiative and organizational skills.
- Staff are expected to be at work on time to their scheduled shifts and maintain a professional appearance and be friendly and welcoming to guests and co-workers at all times.
Physical Demands
- Requires moderate physical effort. Standing, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling and pushing, lifting of weights up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions
- Working conditions involve noise, heat, temperature changes, kitchen elements, odors, moisture, etc. May be required to work additional hours as dictated by the work load and staffing. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

- Clean shirt/pants
