What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Aide - PRN/Evenings position at Hudson Behavioral Health?

Accredited by The Joint Commission, Hudson Behavioral Health is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization providing Behavioral Health Treatment in Salisbury, Maryland. Since its inception in 1980, Hudson Behavioral Health has been providing cutting edge treatment for Substance Use and other co-occurring disorders. Our services include Detoxification, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Partial Hospitalization, Treatment, and 3.1 Housing.
We are looking for a PRN/Behavioral Health Aide to join our team. Hours are 4pm-12:30pm. Must be available every other weekend and some evenings during the week.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients as they arrive on the residential campus.
- Enforce and uphold patient rules and regulations. Assist patients as needed.
- Always ensure whereabouts of patients.
- Rounds should be completed and documented no less than every 30 minutes and should include perimeter checks as well as room checks.
- Check status of buildings routinely.
- Inform patients via patient information board of schedule.
- Assist evening meetings with patients that include NA, AA, and alternative groups.
- Oversee patient meals as well as evening med passes.
- Ensure that patients leave their area clean after each meal.
- Assist patients with assignments as needed without providing additional assignment work.
- Document any issues/concerns that occur on shift.
- Provide transportation as needed.
- Record mileage and condition of fleet vehicle when transporting patients.
- Complete all logs as necessary.
- Inform Environmental Services of needed supplies using the work order system.
- Inspect new patient’s belongings, cycle through heated infection control device as needed, assign linens, and place in patient room.
- Take away any inappropriate items, log them, and deliver valuables sheet to appropriate areas.
- Patient who are discharged AMA or Non-Compliant, remove linens and pillows from their bed.
- Implement therapeutic interventions as necessary.
20. Carry Walkie Talkie and keep on at all times.
21. Refer patients as needed to Peer Support.
22. Work with the Nursing department as a team while nurses are making their rounds and assessments.
23. Other duties specific to shift as well as assigned by the Behavioral Health Aide Supervisor or BHA Director.
Requirements:Qualifications: Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver’s license with no more than 2 violations.
Experience: No experience necessary, but experience in Addiction treatment preferred.
